Part two of ‘The Memory Feast’, provides us with many answers to many questions which take the reader through a very different reading experience.
As this issue starts, picking up directly from the previous issue events take a dramatic turn. We are introduced to an ancient being which has been hiding for many millennia. The ship that the Doctor, Alice and the sapling find themselves on is, in fact, a memory ship for the lost species.
George Mann delivers a story with high-quality aspects, which we have come to expect in this amazing run of comics. Fast paced and fun, the reader is kept turning the pages throughout. We find some hints of what we can come to expect from the sapling. This is a story arc that has been progressing throughout this run and which has been building up to a rather exciting moment.
As the reader is taken down memory lane, there are some really nice nods towards the Doctors past which really strikes the message of this issue. The drama changes direction at many different points and makes the plot totally enjoyable.
Production values, as always are very good. The Daleks home planet Skaro and the Doctors world of Gallifrey are drawn beautifully and there are some stunning panels, showing the alien in memory, expertly drawn by I.N.J Culbard.
Overall a very satisfying conclusion with many questions answered.
