Doctor Who returns this Saturday with another thriller with Oxygen. Written by the Jamie Mathieson (Flatline) and directed by Charles Palmer (Human Nature/Family of Blood), episode 5 delivers another high-quality programme
Nardole (Matt Lucas) is back in the TARDIS admonishing the Doctor for abandoning the vault unprotected on Earth. There is a lovely interaction between two between before the Doctor, hits engage and the TARDIS takes the Doctor, Bill and Nardole out to space station where there’s no oxygen.
The trio has landed on a mining station, Chasm Forge, that has sent out a distress call. A number of the crew are dead and the four remaining survivors are trapped and running out of oxygen. Precious expensive oxygen that is rationed to the workers through the suits that are killing their human organic occupants.
This tale has dire consequences for the Doctor, Bill and Nardole as they and the crew of Chasm Forge fight to survive.
Oh, we aren’t going to spoil the VERY FIRST LINE of the episode. You’ll have to hear it for yourself. And keeping that first quote in mine, look for some follow-up references.
So how does Space Kill you? The main problem is pressure. So don’t hold your breath or lungs will explode!!….. Your sweat and your salvia will boil.
Going to space is exactly like camp. Well no. Well in a way yes!
You only see the true face of the universe when it’s asking for your help!
I thought I sent you to Birmingham for a packet of crisps.
That will teach you to trust me. I’m docking your pay for this.
Space doors are supposed to go shook, shook.
