Victoria’ stars Doctor Who’s Jenna Coleman in the titular role along with Rufus Sewell (Lord Melbourne) and Tom Hughes as Prince Albert. The cast also featured Torchwood’s very own Eve Myles, Tommy Knight (The Sarah Jane Adventures) and a host of other familiar faces from the world of Who

Throughout the series, viewers were able to follow the early life of Queen Victoria, from her ascension to the throne at the tender age of 18, through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert.

Victoria is made by Mammoth Screen, producers of Poldark (BBC One) and Endeavour (ITV), and is created and written by acclaimed novelist Daisy Goodwin, in her screenwriting debut. Daisy serves as executive producer alongside Dan McCulloch (Endeavour, Indian Summers) and Mammoth Screen’s Managing Director Damien Timmer (Parade’s End, Poldark).

The hugely successful series will be back for a second with Jenna Coleman in 2017. The show’s creator Daisy Goodwin also revealed recently in a Q&A with the Radio Times this sumptuous show will get its own Christmas special next year. Perfectly filling a gap left by the award-winning ‘Downton Abbey’.
