Big Finish is among the finalists for the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2017 with 2 nominations.

The nods come in the Best Online/non Broadcast category for Doctor Who: Absent Friends, and Torchwood: More Than This.

‘Absent Friends’ written by John Dorney is part of the emotional and exciting ‘Doom Coalition 3′ box set released in September 2016. It stars Paul McGann as the eighth Doctor, Alex Kingston as River Song, Nicola Walker and Hattie Morahan.

‘Torchwood: More Than This’ written by Guy Adams is the second nomination. This individual story stars original Torchwood cast members Eve Myles and Tom Price alongside Richard Nichols.

Rounding off the category is Baker’s End: The King of Cats from Bafflegab Productions Written by Paul Magrs it stars Tom Baker and Katy Manning in a story of death and intrigue.

Each category is judged by a team of industry experts including actress Alison Steadman, journalist Baz Bamigboye, and producer Piers Plowright. The winners will be announced on Sunday, January 29th at the Radio Theatre in BBC Broadcasting House. The ceremony is hosted by Sir Lenny Henry and will feature live music from Mark Kermode’s Americana band The Dodge Brothers.
